Thanks to the event launch on June 30, 2009, LocoGringo has pledged their Executive Chef Sponsorship for the event and joins Buy Playa Real Estate Advisor and Bric International.  We thank LocoGringo for their support and look forward to working with them throughout the next few weeks.

LocoGringo is a long standing internet based  information source for the Riviera Maya, Costa Maya and Cancun and is dedicated to promoting good businesses on the coast and tourism in general.  They were the pioneers in internet based information for the area and continue to be a primary  information source for current and future visitors to the area.

The site is an interactive site that has up to date information on hotels, local events, things to do and first hand recommendations.  They have been featured in the New York Times as one of the best internet tourism sites and are currently doing an upgrade on their site to make navigation and information easier.  Their forum is very popular with locals and visitors and has up to the minute information on people’s views, what’s happening and trip reports.

” The entire event caught me by surprise this morning.  I am impressed with the people and their backgrounds of the committee. My hat is off to you.” said Kay Walten in an email to the Taste of Playa team yesterday.

Business involvement in local events and economic health of the Mexican Caribbean coast is critical to the continuing success of the area.  It is the creativity and enthusiasm of the local business owners coupled with the profound work of the State and Municipal Tourism Boards that have made Playa del Carmen what it is today.  And their continued participation and realization of visions will continue to place Playa Del Carmen, and all the surrounding cities on the tourism map as a desirable place to be.

The Taste of Playa Committee is a group of local business owners who feel that this event is an important feature for the city.  There have been some changes to key areas in the city by current Municipal President, Prof. Roman Quian.  Under the program “Rescate de Sitios Publicos” historcial areas and community points have been remodelled to accomodate the needs of the community.  Now these spaces can be used for events like Taste of Playa and bring  communities together.  The community is not just Playa Del Carmen any longer and the support of LocoGringo confirms that the cities that are located throughout the Mexcian Caribbean are joining forces to show visitors and residents the beauty of the area and the harmony that exists throughout the coastline.

Thanks LocoGringo for your ongoing support of the area and to Taste of Playa.
